Dramatic Foyers

“You never get a second chance to make a first impression.”

When you walk into any home for the first time, you want the audience to react to the beauty of the space. This is particularly relevant when staging your home for resale, but also just for your own enjoyment.

When we walked into this gorgeous unit at the Palmolive, we were overwhelmed by the chic, clean, and smart interior design choices. The white oak floors in a chevron pattern offer an interesting depth and dimension to the overall space. The simplicity of a black, white, and grey piece of art offers a seamless blend into the overall calm aesthetic of the foyer. Additionally, opting for a glass console table maximizes the width of the room but is still a functional design element. “Coffee table” books are no longer just for coffee tables. Feel free to stack these books to provoke the comfort of home and enhance a flat, linear space. Finally, artfully placed knick-knacks are a great opportunity to show your own style while perfecting an inspired first impression.

Don’t be discouraged if you have a small entry space. The idea is to provoke a feeling and a reaction from your guests, or your prospective buyers. Think of adding art, moldings, light fixtures, wallpaper accents, or even a unique artifact to elicit an initial response that sets a mood and encourages the buyers or guests to want to see more.
